Within the fashion of record companies and the music
industry to pay tribute to great artists, we find ourselves in a position to ask ourselves how it is possible to have
tributes to geniuses who do not need a single word of presentation, The world known or recognized, since everything
smells like mothballs and dividends, especially when these tributes are joined names of characters that one does not
know that they paint there. CDs, DVDs, TVs are released in honor of those geniuses that I understand is meaningless
especially when being alive and in some case wanting to keep on kicking. However from time to time, very occasionally,
there appears some of these tributes senses of truth about an artist that is deserving and also is not multiplatino in
sales nor well-known. Thus in November 2014 was celebrated the 75th birthday of the very great MAVIS STAPLES and in
their honor the deserved honors were given to it with one of those concerts that if they must be realized by justice
written in capital letters.

MAVIS STAPLES is one of the five most important artists of color when less alive
but possibly also of the history of the American history, as much for its musical facet as part of Staple Singers or
alone, but also for its political activities in defense of The people of color and the woman. There are therefore
unquestionable arguments for one and a thousand tributes to his name and with the title of one of his best-known songs
"I'll Take You There" just put on the market the homage paid to him
What appears to us in this
recording is the meeting around the artist of THE BEST OF THE BEST OF American music interpreting THE BEST OF THE BEST

best voice of white soul JOAN OSBORNE marks an exceptional "You're Driving Me (to The arms of the
Stranger)" that saved Mavis recorded already by the year 1969 appearing like a divine blessing. . KEB MO, the

and if Keb is in the movie, the brutal OTIS CLAY leaves you open-mouthed with the flavor bestowed on "I ain't

After this first soul triad comes the most traditional, folk and gospel part of the
hand of three of the great white composers, first BUDDY MILLER with their rocker interpretation of the gospel "Woke
Up This Morning"; A personal weakness PATTY GRIFFIN, is planted with a wonderful interpretation almost unparalleled
in beauty and passion of "Waiting For My Child To Come Home" and finalizing the trio, nothing more and nothing
less EMMYLOU HARRIS with "Far Celestial Shore". MICHAEL MACDONALD brings back to its time Doobie Brothers with
the southern sounds of "Freedom Highway" announcing one of those hymns, a classic, a jewel the People Get
Ready here entrusted in an unprecedented way to GLEN HANSARD that is branded as hallucin Of the biggest surprises of the
evening)
MAVIS and the huge AARON NEVILLE team up for another of Mavis's hits "Respect Yourself" in
a magical choice where the roles are reversed with Mavis with his powerful and husky voice (which is masculine) and
Aaron's voice is sharp and soft. RYAN BINGHAM demonstrates why no one is currently coughing with his shocking
version of "If You're Ready (Come Go with Me)" leaving room for other of the greatest jewels of all the
tribute that comes with "Hope In a Hoppeless World "of Pops Staples by the WIDESPREAD PANIC turned into the
true heirs of The Band. The somewhat lost GRACE POTTER gives us a bit of peace with "Grandma's Hands"
trying to be without getting a Joplin which is followed by one of the big names of the current country ERIC CHURCH with
the bluesera "Eyes on a Prize" A little evident in the presence of TAJ MAHAL with an indelible "Wade in
The Water" or the crying GREGG ALLMAN with a beautiful "Have a Little Faith" that gave a title to the
return of Mavis in 2004.

Talking Heads with Mavis and the members of the ARCADE FIRE that transports us to that Stop Making Sense. Agojonante.

Of course you could not miss in this final part one of the great mentors of the great Mavis, so JEFF TWEEDY has
its place and moment in this celebration with its composition "You're not Alone" duet with Mavis before
giving way to what That one waits first MAVIS demonstrating its greatness, its reign, its height, its brilliance with
"I'll Take You There", that immortal theme of All Bell and engraved decades ago by Mavis with its family
Staples Singers and second the THE WEIGHT with all the interveners praising this Lady Creature of the Lord.

If they have arrived here reading it will be clear that it is a duty to honor Mavis Staples listening to their music
but also the content of this celebration is more than a meritorious Tribute is pure magic and passion. Moreover, I order
